Wet dash expertise in Stockport
Even if you don’t know exactly what wet dash is, you’ve no doubt seen it all over the region on many homes and properties. Drying to form a distinct, textured finish, wet dash is essentially a combination of several different components. It is one part sand, one cement, and the other a fine, sharp gravel.
Applied in a thick layer to exterior walls, wet dash comes in a variety of different colours so no need to paint to create a striking, but traditional finish. From Stockport, we bring our wet dash expertise to properties all over the North West & Cheshire in Wilmslow, Bramhall, Alderley Edge and Macclesfield.
Although an exceptionally strong material, when dry, because of its unique texture, it can be prone to damage over time. If the wet dash on your property is looking a little tired, simply get in touch and we’ll come to reinvigorate the appearance of your property.

Professional wet dash application
Using a premixed solution, applying new wet dash usually involves the initial placement of render to prepare the surface. Then, mixing the solution with cement, wet dash is applied carefully to ensure equal distribution, before being formed professionally all over the area.
Often, it is best to apply wet dash during warmer months, when the temperature is above 5 degrees Celsius, as the wall below is likely to be dry. Rainfall can also impact the drying process, so we usually advise that the wall is to be protected from downpours for at least 24 hours.
If you’d like your wet dash walls to be bright and colourful, simply let us know and we can also prepare professional masonry paint to be applied once the solution has dried. At Shepley Plastering we adore the timeless feel of wet dash applications, and add layers of this outstanding material to homes all over the region.
